Pico Mountain Announces Action-Packed Event Schedule for Winter 2025/26
KILLINGTON, Vt. (November 20, 2025) – Pico Mountain, Vermont’s premier family ski resort since 1937, has unveiled its full winter events lineup as it enters its second season under independent ownership. The festivities kick off with the Pico Race World Registration Party on December 10—just two days before Opening Day on December 12—and continue through the annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 5.
Following a summer of capital improvements under independent ownership, visitors to Pico Mountain will notice several exciting upgrades both on the slopes and inside the lodge. The beginner area has been completely regraded and now features the new covered Bonanza Carpet, creating a smoother and more accessible learning experience for all. Inside the Base Lodge, a new ADA-accessible lift now connects the second floor to the Last Run Lounge on the third floor, improving access for every guest. And on the mountain, Pico’s grooming fleet gets a major boost this season with its own dedicated winch cat, enabling more frequent and efficient grooming on the steeper terrain off the summit.

From the base lodge to the summit, this season’s enhancements elevate Pico across the board and set the tone for an events calendar built around community, fun, and mountain culture.
This year’s calendar is highlighted by a couple of new events, including the 90-Pound Rucksack Challenge on February 18th, an uphill event commemorating the 10th Mountain Division’s courageous ascent of Italy's Riva Ridge on the same date in 1945 during WWII. On March 20, the New England Women’s Demo (NEWD), a women-centered ski & snowboard demo event, will be hosted at Pico for the first time and headed up by female leaders in the winter outdoor gear industry.
Returning this year are plenty of fan-favorites, including Mini Shred Madness on January 3—our grom-exclusive park event all about progression for future freestyle superstars. Pico’s Thursday ski & snowboard race series is also back starting January 15th, bringing friendly competition and a lively Michelob ULTRA–powered après scene. And for our uphill community, the Path to the Peak programs sponsored by Mammut return for their second year, offering both beginner-friendly and intermediate/advanced clinics to support Pico’s growing skinning scene.

January 15 – March 12: Michelob ULTRA Pico Race World (Thursdays)
Thursday fun run racing returns to Pico, followed by after-parties & prizing for racers.
February 7: Ski VT Specialty Food Day at Pico
Sample some of Vermont’s finest food & drink just steps from the slopes.
February 14: Pico Ski Education Foundation - Silent Auction Fundraiser
The Pico Ski Education Foundation (PSEF) hosts their annual fundraising event with great prizes at stake.
February 18: Ninety-Pound Rucksack Challenge
Evening uphill event to commemorate the U.S. Army's legendary 10th Mountain Division.
February 20: Pico Hiko Splitfest
Try out some exclusive uphill demo gear right at the base of Pico Mountain.
February 21: Path to the Peak – Uphill Program
Our first of two guided uphill programs, this one tailored for beginners to the skinning scene.
March 14: Path to the Peak – Uphill Program
Our second uphill program, this time for experienced skinners, featuring giveaways & tutorials.
March 20: New England Women’s Demo
A women-led demo event at Pico with no shortage of industry professionals.
March 28: Vertical Challenge at Pico Mountain
The casual (and free!) ski and snowboard race series makes its annual trip back to Pico.
March 29: Pico Season Pass Holder Appreciation Party
Calling all Pico passholders! Head to the lodge for free lunch, live music, and free raffle prizes, all as thanks for joining us all winter.
April 5: Easter Egg Hunt at Pico
Let the kiddos search around the Pico base area for eggs filled with candy & some big prizes.
