Mountain Report

Hey, Pico fans!

Temps are dipping, and our favorite season is getting closer by the day! In case you haven’t heard, our scheduled Opening Day at Pico Mountain is Friday, December 11. Mark your calendars, get your gear ready, and start counting down because winter is on its way!

Haven’t finalized your plans for the season? Now’s the time to get everything lined up before the snow starts flying. Grab your lift tickets, reserve your ski or snowboard rentals, or check out our season passes so you’re ready to go when winter arrives.

As we head into our third winter under independent ownership, we’re continuing to invest in the guest experience! Bonanza will get a second, shorter covered carpet for first-time skiers and riders, along with loading improvements to the existing carpet. Across Killington and Pico, four covered carpets will be in operation this winter as part of a $2 million beginner-area investment.

Snowmaking upgrades are also underway, including pipe replacements around B Slope and a new moisture separator in our main pumphouse, building on recent valve station improvements.

Meanwhile, work continues on the new temporary rope tow on That A Way, providing access to the top of Bronco this winter. Looking ahead to Pico’s 90th anniversary in 2027/28, plans are also progressing for a permanent Outpost Quad targeted to be installed during summer 2027.

Exciting times are ahead! See you SNOW-soon! ❄️
