Pico Mountain's Daily Report

October 6, 2026 3:44 PM

Hello, Pico fans!

Fall is officially in the air, and we’ve got winter on the horizon! Mark your calendars because our scheduled Opening Day at Pico Mountain is Friday, December 11!

If you haven’t already, lock in your plans for the 2026/27 season. Purchase your lift tickets, reserve ski or snowboard rentals, or choose a season pass and make Opening Day the start of your best winter yet.

If you’d rather pick and choose your dates instead of committing to the season, we’ve got options for that, too. P-Ticket Vouchers and P-Day Passes are now still on sale! These lowest-per-day lift ticket options are built for flexibility, with both valid every day of the 2026/27 season, no blackout dates, and one price for all ages. P-Ticket Vouchers are at their lowest price through October 15 while P-Day Passes are only available this season through October 15, so act fast!

On the construction front, after upgrading valve stations at the bottom of Lower Pike and on Easy Street/Upper K.A., snowmaking pipe replacements are now underway in the base area around B Slope. These upgrades, along with a new moisture separator being installed inside our main snowmaking pumphouse, will continue to make our snowmaking system more efficient as we gear up for winter.

Up in the Outpost area, a new temporary rope tow on That A Way is still in the works ahead of winter 2026/27. The tow will give skiers and riders lift access to the top of Bronco for the upcoming season. Looking ahead to winter 2027/28—our 90th anniversary!—we’ll have more information to share this fall about a permanent Outpost lift replacement, which we’re looking to install during summer 2027. Exciting times are ahead!

On the events front, the Town of Killington's Haunt & Harvest weekend is coming up on Friday, Oct. 16 - Sunday, Oct. 18! The weekend brings together several community Halloween traditions, including the Salmeri Haunted House, the sixth annual Killington Parks & Recreation Trunk or Treat at the Sherburne Memorial Library, and the Killington Mountain Bike Club's Haunted Hillside at Base Camp Outfitters.

Enjoy the crisp fall air—the snow will be falling before we know it!
