Greetings from Pico Mountain, 

Exciting things are on the horizon as we head into our third winter season under independent ownership! After last summer brought us a newly regraded beginner area complete with a new covered carpet lift, more magic is coming to Bonanza ahead of this winter. Crews are set to install a second, shorter carpet on skier's right of Bonanza 1, specifically with first-time skiers and riders in mind. Further, the entrance to the carpet built ahead of last winter (now called Bonanza Carpet I) is being adjusted to provide an easier loading experience for guests. Across Killington & Pico, we'll have a total of four covered carpet lifts heading into winter 2026/27, the result of a $2 million investment in our beginner guest experience.

New Outpost Lift & More

Finally, we have more news to share about Outpost regarding this upcoming season and beyond. For this winter, the temporary Outpost Rope Tow will be installed on That A Way, giving skiers and riders lift access to all of Outpost's terrain. Next summer, our latest $3.8 million investment is on the way, as a new, fixed-grip quad chairlift is set to be installed in place of the retired Outpost Double. This new lift, manufactured by Doppelmayr, is the same model as the newly built Snowdon Quad over at Killington, giving our two resorts a level of consistency regarding operation, parts, and maintenance of both lifts. Additionally, due to increased chair spacing, the uphill capacity for the new Outpost Quad will match that of the Outpost Double, meaning there will be no additional "crowding" on that section of the mountain. We hope you're as excited as we are for the future of Outpost!

P-Days Passes & P-Ticket Vouchers

Opening Day is just under two months away, but your time to save on lift access this winter is running out. P-Days Passes, which unlock 2, 3, or 4 days of skiing at our lowest daily rate during this winter, are only on sale through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 15. P-Ticket Vouchers, which offer similarly low prices but with even more flexibility when redeeming, are only at their best price through that same deadline on October 15. Now is your last chance to learn more about each option and choose which one is best for you this winter!

October Construction Update

Construction season is soon coming to a close, but not before we finish some key projects along the way. Along with the aforementioned carpet and rope tow projects, our crews are crossing off a few other important objectives before we open for the winter. First up, work on the new valve station at the Easy Street/K.A. intersection is now complete, complete with a new, larger workspace inside for our snowmakers. Next, a new moisture separator is being installed shortly at our main pumphouse, an upgrade that will help keep us making snow even at frigid temperatures that could sometimes freeze our compressed air lines and cause issues. Lastly, we've done even more snowmaking hydrant work than in a usual summer, replacing several malfunctioning hydrants on Bronco and even adding five additional hydrants to That A Way to help maintain snowpack for our new rope tow.

Our Adult Group Lessons, meant for beginner to novice level skiers & riders (ages 16+), are available to book all season long on Saturdays, Sundays, and select peak periods. We also have private lessons for sale, best for one-on-one instruction or for a tailored learning experience for a small group of your friends or family. For the kiddos, we have options for all ages and ability levels, including our full-day Trekkers program, our season-long Explorers program, and more.

Haunt & Harvest Weekend

Halloween is nearly upon us, and the Haunt & Harvest Weekend is here to provide a scary good time. On October 16-18, three community Halloween traditions are joining together for one frightfully fun weekend, including the Salmeri Haunted House, Killington Parks & Recreation's Trunk-or-Treat, and Killington Mountain Bike Club's Haunted Hillside.

Thanksgiving weekend is a little over one month away, meaning U.S. Ski Team standouts and Olympic medalists alike will soon be competing at the Stifel Killington Cup.
